Not a major attraction for international visitors but a visit to Dusit Zoo certainly gets you a memorable jungle experience right in the heart of the old town. Before it opened to the public in 1938, it was a private zoo of HM King Rama V, who ordered a construction on 1895 and named it Khao Din Vana, a name which is commonly known among Thais until today. Every year, more than 2,500,000 animal lovers visit Dusit Zoo to inspect more than 3,000 creatures housed in their inhabitant-like environment. The highlighted zones include the Nocturnal Animal Habit and Raptiles and Amphibians Center. There are also recreation and leisure activities available at the park and the presentation for kids to learn how to preserve wild lives and the forest.
